About Frontal

Frontal is building the infrastructure for enterprise intelligence.

We’re creating an AI-native platform that enables enterprises to turn their data, systems, and operations into intelligent software that can understand, reason, decide, and act. Our stack spans AI infrastructure, models, agents, data, evaluation, observability, and the runtime required to operate intelligent systems reliably in production.

We’re a small, engineering-driven team based in Lisbon, working on problems at the intersection of AI, software infrastructure, and enterprise operations.

About the role

As a Solutions Engineer, you’ll work at the intersection of Frontal’s technology, customers, and business.

You’ll take complex enterprise problems and turn them into working solutions using Frontal. You’ll work directly with customers to understand their systems and workflows, design technical architectures, build prototypes, and help move successful deployments into production.

This is a highly technical, customer-facing role. You’ll need to understand both what the customer is trying to accomplish and how the underlying technology can make it possible.

You’ll work closely with engineering, product, and the founding team to shape solutions, identify product opportunities, and demonstrate what Frontal can do in real-world environments.

What you will do

Work directly with enterprise customers to understand their technical environments, workflows, and business problems.
Translate customer requirements into technical architectures and Frontal solutions.
Design AI-native applications, workflows, agents, integrations, and data systems.
Build prototypes and proofs of concept that demonstrate the value of Frontal.
Integrate Frontal with customer systems, APIs, data sources, and existing infrastructure.
Develop technical demos and solutions tailored to specific customer use cases.
Work alongside customers during pilots and early deployments.
Diagnose technical problems and identify practical solutions.
Collaborate with product and engineering to turn recurring customer requirements into platform capabilities.
Communicate technical architecture and implementation decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Help evaluate whether a customer use case is technically feasible and commercially valuable.
Support the sales process with technical discovery, architecture discussions, demos, and proof-of-concept work.
Create technical documentation, solution architectures, and implementation plans.
Establish repeatable patterns for deploying Frontal across different enterprise environments.
Feed customer insights back into product strategy and engineering priorities.
Help customers move from experimentation to reliable production systems.

About you

You have strong software engineering and systems fundamentals.
You are comfortable writing production-quality code and building working prototypes quickly.
You understand APIs, databases, cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, and modern software architecture.
You are comfortable working with AI systems, including LLMs, agents, retrieval, tool use, and automation.
You can understand a complex customer environment and reduce it to a clear technical problem.
You communicate exceptionally well with both engineers and business stakeholders.
You are comfortable presenting technical concepts and demonstrating software to customers.
You are highly resourceful and can figure things out when documentation or requirements are incomplete.
You care about solving the customer’s actual problem rather than simply implementing what they initially request.
You are comfortable operating in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
You have strong product instincts and can recognize when a customer problem should become a platform capability.
You are willing to get hands-on: writing code, debugging integrations, building demos, and working directly with users.
You take ownership from the first customer conversation through successful deployment.

Bonus if you

Have experience as a Solutions Engineer, Sales Engineer, Forward Deployed Engineer, Solutions Architect, or similar role.
Have worked directly with enterprise customers.
Have experience deploying AI or ML systems in production.
Have built applications using LLMs, agents, RAG, tool calling, or workflow automation.
Have experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Have experience with APIs, SDKs, data platforms, or developer infrastructure.
Can prototype quickly in TypeScript, Python, or similar languages.
Have experience with enterprise integrations, identity, security, or networking.
Have worked at an early-stage startup and are comfortable wearing multiple hats.
Have experience turning successful customer implementations into reusable product capabilities.
Have strong technical writing or presentation skills.
Have contributed to open-source projects or built significant software independently.
