Versioning
Track the CLI, SDK, and experimental MCP interface versions you depend on.
The CLI, @openai/codex-sdk, and MCP server are versioned with the open-source openai/codex project. Pin the npm SDK in production, keep the CLI compatible with it, and review GitHub releases before upgrading.
The MCP server interface is explicitly experimental. Prefer the v2 thread and turn methods for new integrations, but expect protocol details to change; keep a compatibility test that initializes the server and exercises the methods your host needs.
