Third-party notices, licenses, and attributions for software components used in Frontal's Services.

Frontal Labs, Inc. ("Frontal," "we," "us," or "our") Services incorporate or utilize third-party software, libraries, models, and components that are subject to separate license terms. This document provides notices and license information for those components.
1. THIRD-PARTY SOFTWARE NOTICES
The Frontal platform incorporates open source and third-party software components. A comprehensive list of third-party dependencies, including version numbers and applicable licenses, is maintained in the following locations:
- Web Application and Platform: Dependency manifests in our published container images and package registries.
- CLI Tools and SDKs: LICENSE and NOTICE files distributed with each release.
- Documentation: Notices at https://frontal.dev/legal/notices-and-license-information.
We make the source code of open source components available as required by their respective licenses. For components distributed under licenses requiring source code availability (e.g., GPL, LGPL, MPL), contact us at legal@frontal.dev to request source code.
2. NOTABLE THIRD-PARTY COMPONENTS
The Services incorporate or depend upon the following categories of third-party software:
Infrastructure and Runtime:
- Linux kernel and GNU userland components (various licenses, primarily GPLv2).
- Kubernetes (Apache 2.0).
- Docker and containerd (Apache 2.0).
- Node.js (MIT and other licenses).
- Python and CPython (Python Software Foundation License).
- Rust standard library and toolchain (MIT / Apache 2.0).
Web Frameworks and Libraries:
- React (MIT).
- Next.js (MIT).
- Various npm-ecosystem packages, as listed in package.json and lockfiles.
Database and Data Infrastructure:
- PostgreSQL (PostgreSQL License).
- Redis (BSD 3-Clause, RSALv2 for certain modules).
- Apache Kafka (Apache 2.0).
AI and Machine Learning:
- ONNX Runtime (MIT).
- Various model inference and serving frameworks as described in our Documentation.
Security and Cryptography:
- OpenSSL (Apache 2.0 with OpenSSL exception).
- BoringSSL (OpenSSL-derived, various licenses).
- OpenSSH (BSD).

3. AI MODEL LICENSES
The Services provide access to third-party AI models, each of which is subject to its own license terms, acceptable use policies, and restrictions. Key model families accessible through the Services include:
- Anthropic Claude: Subject to Anthropic's commercial terms of service and acceptable use policy.
- OpenAI GPT and Embedding Models: Subject to OpenAI's terms of service, usage policies, and business terms.
- Google Gemini: Subject to Google Cloud Platform terms of service and acceptable use policy.
- Mistral AI: Subject to Mistral AI's terms of service (for API access) or applicable open source licenses (Apache 2.0 for certain open-weight models).
- Azure OpenAI: Subject to Microsoft's Azure terms of service and the Azure OpenAI code of conduct.
You are responsible for reviewing and complying with the applicable terms for any third-party AI model you access through the Services.
4. OPEN SOURCE CONTRIBUTIONS
Frontal contributes to open source projects in the AI infrastructure, cloud-native, and developer tooling communities. Our contributions are made under the license terms of the respective projects. Frontal maintains open source repositories at https://github.com/frontal-labs.
5. LICENSE COMPLIANCE
Frontal uses commercially reasonable efforts to comply with the license terms of all third-party software incorporated into or used by the Services. Our compliance program includes:
- Automated license scanning of all dependencies at build time.
- Review of license compatibility before incorporating new dependencies.
- Maintenance of an approved license list and a restricted license list.
- Periodic audit of dependency licenses.
- Processes to fulfill source code availability obligations under copyleft licenses.

THIRD-PARTY SOFTWARE AND COMPONENTS ARE PROVIDED BY THEIR RESPECTIVE COPYRIGHT HOLDERS AND CONTRIBUTORS "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. FRONTAL MAKES NO REPRESENTATIONS OR WARRANTIES REGARDING THIRD-PARTY SOFTWARE OR COMPONENTS. SEE THE APPLICABLE LICENSE TERMS FOR DISCLAIMERS AND LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY.

All trademarks, service marks, and trade names referenced in this document are the property of their respective owners. Frontal is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the owners of third-party trademarks unless expressly stated.

This document is updated periodically as dependencies change. The effective date reflects the most recent comprehensive review. Dependency-level changes may occur between updates.
